5 Terrifying Bridges Across The World to Challenge The Daredevil in You

Bridges are a testimony to what humans can achieve. We've scaled everything- from rivers to valleys and fjords to mountain passes. We have built astonishing bridges that are beautiful and terrifying at the same time. HolidayIQ lists down five such bridges from around the world that will make your stomach churn!

1. Cliff walk, Titlis

If you've heard of the breathtaking beauty of the Swiss Alps and want to experience them from a vantage point, the Titlis suspension bridge is one of the best places to be at. It's 500 m above the ground and stretches for 320 m, being only 3m wide. While crossing this bridge, you get an unparalled view of the Alps and if it is in winters, you can see the ice reflecting off the sunshine. To add to the experience, the bridge has look-through glass planks to give you that thrilling view of the Titlis glacier below.

2. Langkawi Sky Bridge

At an insane 660 m above the sea level, the Langkawi Sky bridge gives you the illusion of hanging in the air. With three different curves across its length, the bridge offers you an unbelievable view of Malaysia. On account of its location and architectural brilliance, the bridge has been a popular spot for various movies' shooting.
Best time to visit: October/November.

3. Glass Skywalk, Tianmenshan

This one in China, is strictly for those with nerves of steel and a strong stomach for adventure. Also known as “The Walk of Faith”, this glass skyway's sole purpose is to scare the life out of you and probably leaving you breathless in the process. Being just 1.6 meters wide and located 1430 meters above sea level, it makes sure your brain starts spinning the moment you try to take it on. If you can move past the fear, it rewards you with possibly one of the best views you're ever likely to experience.

4. The Storseisundbrua

At first, this bridge would confuse you into believing that it is a roller coaster. Nicknamed “The road to nowhere”, it is situated in the beautiful west coast of Norway and due to the architecture, gives an approaching driver the illusion of taking a blind leap into the ocean. The thought of crossing it becomes scarier when you get to know about insanely high waves that crash into it on a continuous basis.
Best time to visit: May and September to see it in its natural grandeur.

5. Capilano Suspension Bridge

What sets apart this bridge from others in this list is the scenery around it which will definitely convince you that paradise is real. If you were ever enthralled by those dinosaur movies where people would find lost worlds, this is the place for you. Bang above the Capilano river in Vancouver, Canada, the bridge ends at a cliffwalk which is right by one of the many gorges of the river and makes for a surreal setting.
